Born in Ahrntal, South Tyrol, Italy, the mountains have always played a leading role in Philipp “Flip” Ausserhofer’s life. What started as a skiing obsession soon graduated to a deep appreciation for the extreme alpinists in his backyard. His playful approach to exploring the mountains ultimately led to him wanting to go further — faster. Today, Flip is a world-renowned ultra trail runner with accolades to prove it. Since 2018, he has actively competed in the world’s toughest ultra marathons, driven by the mental challenge of pushing his own limits and spending more time in the mountains while exploring the world through running.
